In 1968 Stubb opened his now legendary "Stubb's Bar-B-Que" in Lubbock, Texas. There was room for about 75 people. For years, any country or blues singer passing through Lubbock ended up at Stubb's for an impromptu jam. Two of those that came by early in their careers were Joe Ely & Tom T. Hall, and they wanted to sing for their supper. When you stopped by to eat you never knew who you would run into, and Stubb helped many country & blues entertainers along the way. Many of them have become famous since then. In the mid-eighties he moved his business to Austin where you'll find the stage & the same friendly atmosphere, and a whole lot of entertainers. There's much more to this story, so stay tuned.
